Refund and Returns Policy

This policy outlines the terms and conditions for refunds and returns for all products and services purchased from Rochdale Sports Club. Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase.
Overview
Our refund and returns policy varies depending on the type of product or service purchased. Different terms apply to:
- Squash Academy sessions and memberships
- Event tickets and tournament entries
- Physical products and merchandise
- Court bookings and facility hire
Squash Academy Sessions and Memberships
Session Cancellations:
- If you cancel a session more than 24 hours before the scheduled time, you will receive a full refund
- If you cancel within 24 hours of the session, no refund will be provided
- If we cancel a session due to coach unavailability or other circumstances beyond our control, you will receive a full refund or credit
- If you miss a session without prior notice, no refund will be provided
Monthly Memberships:
- Monthly memberships are non-refundable once activated
- If you wish to cancel your membership, you must provide 30 days’ written notice
- Membership fees paid in advance will not be refunded for unused portions of the month
- In exceptional circumstances (medical reasons, relocation), we may consider partial refunds at our discretion
Event Tickets and Tournament Entries
General Policy: Event tickets and tournament entries are normally non-refundable. However, refunds may be available in the following circumstances:
- Event Cancellation: If we cancel an event, you will receive a full refund of the face value of the ticket
- Event Rescheduling: If we reschedule an event and you cannot attend the new date, you will receive a full refund
- Event Postponement: If we postpone an event indefinitely, you will receive a full refund
What You Won’t Get Back:
- Booking fees or card processing fees
- Travel or accommodation costs
- Any additional expenses incurred
- Refunds for change of mind or inability to attend
Tournament Entries:
- Tournament entry fees are non-refundable once the draw has been made
- If you withdraw before the draw is made, you may receive a partial refund (less administrative costs)
- If the tournament is cancelled, you will receive a full refund
Physical Products and Merchandise
Our refund and returns policy for physical products lasts 30 days. If 30 days have passed since your purchase, we can’t offer you a full refund or exchange.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be:
- Unused and in the same condition that you received it
- In the original packaging
- Accompanied by a receipt or proof of purchase
Non-returnable items:
- Personalized or custom-made items
- Items that have been worn or used
- Items damaged due to misuse or normal wear and tear
- Items returned more than 30 days after delivery
- Gift cards or vouchers
- Downloadable products
Court Bookings and Facility Hire
Cancellation Policy:
- If you cancel more than 24 hours before your booking, you will receive a full refund
- If you cancel within 24 hours, no refund will be provided
- If we cancel due to maintenance or other circumstances, you will receive a full refund
- No-shows will not receive any refund
Function Room Hire:
- Cancellations more than 7 days before the event: Full refund
- Cancellations 3-7 days before the event: 50% refund
- Cancellations less than 3 days before the event: No refund
- Deposits are non-refundable unless we cancel the booking
Refund Process
For Online Purchases:
- Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email notification
- We will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund
- If approved, your refund will be processed within 5-10 business days
- A credit will be applied to your original method of payment
For In-Person Purchases:
- Bring your receipt and the item to our reception desk
- Our staff will inspect the item and process the refund
- Refunds will be processed immediately for cash purchases
- Card refunds may take 3-5 business days to appear on your statement
Late or Missing Refunds
If you haven’t received a refund yet, please follow these steps:
- Check your bank account again (refunds can take 5-10 business days)
- Contact your credit card company (there may be processing delays)
- Contact your bank (processing time varies by institution)
- If you’ve completed all steps and still haven’t received your refund, contact us at info@rochdalesportsclub.co.uk
Exchanges
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange an item:

- Return the item to: Redbrook, Bridgefold Road, Rochdale, Lancs. OL11 5BX
- We will inspect the item and arrange a replacement if appropriate
- You are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item was defective
Gift Purchases
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased:
- You’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return
- Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you
- The gift certificate can be used for any of our products or services
If the item wasn’t marked as a gift:
- We will send a refund to the original purchaser
- The gift giver will be notified of the return

Important Notes:
- You are responsible for paying return shipping costs
- Shipping costs are non-refundable
- If you receive a refund, return shipping costs will be deducted from your refund
- For expensive items, consider using a trackable shipping service
- We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item
- Processing time for returned items may vary depending on your location
Special Circumstances
Medical Emergencies: In cases of medical emergencies that prevent attendance, we may consider refunds on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us with supporting documentation.
Weather Conditions: For outdoor events, if severe weather conditions cause cancellation, refunds will be provided. For indoor events, normal cancellation policies apply.
Force Majeure: In cases of circumstances beyond our control (natural disasters, government restrictions, etc.), we will work with customers to find appropriate solutions, which may include credits or rescheduling.
Consumer Rights
This policy does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer. Under UK consumer law, you have the right to:
- Return faulty goods within 30 days for a full refund
- Request repairs or replacements for faulty goods
- Receive goods that are as described and of satisfactory quality
- Cancel distance purchases within 14 days (with some exceptions)
