Rochdale Squash Academy (RSA) was formed in 2016 by Andy Parton and Eddie Hamilton, establishing a foundation for junior squash development in our community. The academy was expanded in 2022 with the addition of a world-ranked elite coach, Lewis Doughty, bringing professional-level expertise to our programs.
In 2025, Lewis Doughty was offered the prestigious position of Head Coach at Wimbledon Squash Club. Rochdale Squash Academy were pleased to appoint Jordan Hardwick as the new Lead Coach in October 2025, ensuring continuity of excellence in our coaching staff.
Today, Rochdale Squash Academy continues to provide world-class coaching and development opportunities for players of all ages, from beginners taking their first steps on court to elite players competing at county and national levels.
To increase the number and diversity of juniors who have tried playing squash at Rochdale Sports Club, making the sport accessible to all young people in our community.
To increase the number of junior squash members who regularly play squash, building a strong foundation of committed young players.
To increase the number of girls and ladies playing squash at the Club, promoting gender equality in our sport.
To raise the standard of juniors playing squash, developing players who can compete at county and national levels.
To increase the number of volunteers who are juniors, fostering leadership and community involvement among our young members.
To increase the number of juniors playing in the senior teams and the level at which they play, creating pathways for progression.
To increase the number and standard of young juniors from the age of 5 to 18 years old, providing comprehensive development programs.

Jordan is a Level 2 squash and racketball coach and Warwickshire County coach. He plays at county, regional, and national standard, coaching both juniors and adults with a focus on competitive development.
George brings elite sport training routines from rowing to our fitness sessions. He specializes in Next Generation coaching and fitness training, helping players develop both on and off the court.
Adam leads our Fun and Practice sessions, creating an enjoyable environment where beginners through experienced juniors can develop their squash skills while having fun and making new friends.
Ethan co-coaches our Women’s Group sessions, providing a supportive environment for women of all abilities to improve their squash skills while enjoying exercise and social interaction.
Andy is one of the co-founders of Rochdale Squash Academy, established in 2016. He and Eddie have developed the academy to where it is now and are planning for its future development. He controls the finances to make sure the academy is sustainable.
Andy started coaching juniors at Rochdale in the 1980s with Eddie. He has played squash at the highest amateur level and is a qualified squash referee, he brings all that knowledge to the current coaches and juniors.
Eddie is one of the co-founders of Rochdale Squash Academy, established in 2016. He and Andy had a vision for the academy to be one of the ‘Best in the North West’ and with that in mind have built a team of coaches and have plans to deliver that vision.
He started coaching juniors at Rochdale in the 1980s and in his early years was a Lancashire junior coach. One of his students went on to be a world champion, Laura Massaro.
For new starters, a fun session where juniors will be introduced to the basics of squash. Perfect for young children taking their first steps into the sport.

This is where the real work starts to develop into a competitive player. Includes practice, drills, coaching and fitness training supervised by our lead coach.
